Martin’s journey has been diverse, to say the least. After earning an associate’s degree in art, he ventured into the workforce, initially finding himself amidst the sawdust of a lumber company and later in the midst of the bustling operations of an oil company. However, destiny had other plans for him. Over two decades ago, Martin made a pivotal decision to relocate to Japan. Little did he know, this move would set the stage for a remarkable career shift. Upon arriving in Japan, Martin found himself at a small language school in Tokyo, where he began teaching both children and adults in private lessons. It didn’t take long for him to realize his passion for teaching children. Determined to focus his efforts in this direction, Martin transitioned to various preschools and kindergartens. Through these experiences, he honed his teaching skills and amassed invaluable experience. Yet, Martin’s approach to teaching goes beyond mere instruction. He believes in empathy and perpetual learning as the cornerstones of effective teaching. Now with a wealth of experience under his belt, Martin remains committed to providing a great learning environment for his students in the Navigators Class. Martin’s interests extend beyond the classroom, encompassing skateboarding, snowboarding, woodworking, video games, and working on classic Volkswagen cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
